Autumn Double Updates Service 09

After a hectic Summer’s racing, the Autumn sees a top class meeting virtually every weekend.
Newmarket Racecourse’s Rowley Mile is home to two of these meetings thanks to the prestigious Cambridgeshire Meeting, at the start of October, and Champions Day, a fortnight later.
With Group 1s a plenty, and some spectacular racing in prospect, we’ve introduced the ‘AUTUMN DOUBLE UPDATES SERVICE’ – a betting advice service focused on these meetings and written by Ian Grimwood, author of the Summer Festivals Betting Guide.
For only £15 subscribers will receive an expert analysis of the days racing to encompass two-days of the Cambridgeshire meeting - Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October, as well as Champions Day – Saturday 17th October.
The Group 1 Middle Park and Cheveley Park Stakes, two races which usually attract the pinnacle of the juvenile sprinters, take centre stage on Friday 2nd, with supporting races including a brace of Group 3′s, in the shape of the Oh So Sharp Stakes and Joel Stakes, the Listed Godolphin Stakes, a classy 1m2f handicap, and the unique Newmarket Challenge Whip completing the line up.
The Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes is one of the highlights on Saturday 3rd but all eyes will be firmly fixed on the cavalry charge that is the Totesport Cambridgeshire. There is £1 million up for grabs in the Tattersalls Timeform Million, so that race looks sure to attract a competitive line up as does the fillies equivalent which is worth £800,000. Two classy handicaps and a competitive Nursery help to complete a competitive days racing all round.
Following a short break we return on Saturday 17th for the prestigious Champions Day. Six Pattern races and one of the classiest staying handicaps of the season attract some of the best horses Europe has to offer.
The Group 1 Champion Stakes is one of the highlights, won last year in emphatic style by New Approach. The Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes is considered by many as the two-year-old championship race of the season and the winner usually finds himself thrust to the forefront of the betting for next year’s 2000 Guineas. The Group 2 Rockfel Stakes is the fillies’ equivalent, won in recent years by the future 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa. The Group 3 Jockey Club Cup has been won by some iconic stayers in recent years, notably Persian Punch and Millenary, whilst the pattern races keep on coming thick and fast with the Group 2 Challenge Stakes and Pride Stakes. The most competitive race on the card is the Cesarewitch which always attracts upwards of thirty runners hoping to land the honours over a gruelling two and a quarter miles.
Each update will be available on bettrends.co.uk by 6pm the evening before racing, giving subscribers plenty of time to digest the information.
