 Pre-Season League 1 advice

HUDDERSFIELD win outright @ 10/1 (VC Bet & BlueSq)
Leeds appear to have this wrapped up already but HUDDERSFIELD’s Achilles heel has once again been their away form. Six defeats from ten on the road this year is not good enough and seeing as they are unbeaten at home it’s easy to see where their problems lie. They score goals for fun and an automatic spot is still a realistic ambition if they can correct their woeful form away from the Galpharm.

TRANMERE to be relegated @ 6/1 (BetFred & SkyBet)
The basis for this was the fact John Barnes isn’t a football manager. While this is has been proved in no uncertain terms it was still sad to see the Tranmere board realise it so early (well, not if you’re a Rovers fan I guess). Nevertheless they are currently sat 23rd in the division and four points from safety which gives us real hope that this one can be landed.

SOUTHEND e/w +19pts on handicap @ 18/1 (Coral)
COLCHESTER e/w +22pts @ 18/1 (Coral)
Whilst one Essex side have let us down (SOUTHEND) the other, COLCHESTER, have been going great guns. They currently sit 4th in the handicap according to Coral so are looking good for our e/w terms. They are just eight points behind the leaders, Walsall, and handled the departure of Paul Lambert to rivals Norwich with the shrewd appointment of Aidy Boothroyd.

THEO ROBINSON top scorer e/w @ 25/1 (Bet365)
STEVEN GILLESPIE top scorer e/w @ 50/1 (William Hill)
This competition has proved very competitive and although THEO ROBINSON has done well his six league goals are a mere drop in the ocean when you compare them to the leaders Ricky Lambert (fifteen) and Grant Holt (thirteen). STEVEN GILLESPIE’s long drawn out return from injury has also dealt us a blow in this area.

No bets for rest of season
