Pre-Season Championship advice

Right, I’ll be the first to admit that I got this wrong by dismissing Newcastle. That said I still stand by my opinion that 6/1 was very poor value. READING have suffered a very poor start to the season and their home form has continue from where it left off last year. They won’t be challenging this year but it is hoped Brendan Rodgers is slowly getting the hang of things for next year. SHEFF UTD endured a terrible run of form through October and November but three straight wins have reignited their promotion dreams.

Now this was a bet I was ultra keen about but sadly he didn’t play too much football earlier doors and so it is only recently that we have begun to see what he’s all about. He’s currently sat on five goals and with the first of them only coming on 21st November we see that he’s quickly found his stride. Michael Chopra and Peter Whittingham lead the way but I haven’t given up hope that our guy can triumph.

Handicap betting always contains plenty of twists and turns and well done if you were on Blackpool at the start of the season! On Coral’s points they currently lead by a point with our tips, LEICESTER and PRESTON, sat in mid-table. However, the Foxes are only 10 points off top spot and are nearly in the e/w so they are anything but done with. Preston have a bit more work to do but this market has plenty of mileage still in the tank.

Rest of the season
For me there isn’t too much that catches the eye at this stage for the remainder of the Championship season. However, one that does catch the eye is DARIUS HENDERSON @ 14/1 (Skybet) for leading scorer. Currently sat on ten goals, he’s only one behind the leaders and you’d like to think Sheff Utd’s worst spell of the season is now behind them. With this mind it is quite conceivable that they will finish in a play-off berth and if that’s true then Henderson will surely add another ten or so goals to his season.
