Xtrends

Unfortunately Wincanton was abandoned last week, so we had no runners and with Cheltenham just over two weeks away we have another quiet weekend ahead.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
NUMIDE runs in the 1.30 at Kempton and at last he has his ground. It is a step up in trip for him, but he should be able to handle it. On soft ground his form is solid and having not taken to fences he now has his first real chance of victory this season. A rating of 130 is very fair when you consider he was unlucky not to win the Ladbroke Hurdle last season off 132 on ground faster than ideal. Gary Moore is an expert at winning these handicap hurdles and the useful Joshua Moore takes seven pounds off his back. He should go very well at a decent price.

QOZAK has been declared for the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell on Sunday (3.35) and I expect a big run. The trip and ground will be ideal and although he faces some useful opponents he is capable of winning well. He jumps very fluently and travels well and is on the up and receiving eight pounds from the top two, he can improve past some who won’t have conditions to suit.
