Glorious Goodwood is one of the highlights of the flat racing season, offering five days of top-class action in its picturesque surroundings.

It can be a notorious difficult meeting from a punting point of view but help is at hand in the form of the Glorious Goodwood Service. Expertly written by Ian Grimwood, author of the Summer Festivals Betting Guide and former Racing Secretary to trainer Mark Johnston, subscribers receive a detailed preview of each and every race spanning all five days of the meeting, along with his own suggested bets.

The feature race on day one of the festival is the Group 2 Betfair Cup, a 7f contest for 3yo and upwards, supported by the Group 3 Gordon Stakes and Molecomb Stakes along with three competitive handicaps and a maiden stakes.

Some of Europe’s best milers take centre stage on Wednesday in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes. On the same card, the Group 2 Vintage Stakes gives the juveniles a chance to shine along with three competitive handicaps, a maiden fillies’ stakes and a 0-95 classified stakes.

Stamina is the order of the day on Wednesday, when all eyes will be on the Group 2 Goodwood Cup. The supporting action isn’t bad either thanks to the Group 2 King George Stakes, the Group 3 Moet Hennessy Fillies’ Stakes, three handicaps and a maiden fillies’ stakes.

Friday see’s the running of the ultra-competitive Totesport Mile along with the Group 2 Richmond Stakes, the Group 3 Glorious Stakes, the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes and three handicaps.

The meeting concludes on Saturday which sees the running of one of the country’s leading handicaps, the bluesquare.com Stewards’ Cup, and  there will be plenty of top class fillies in action in the £200,000 Group 1 Nassau Stakes. The Listed Thoroughbred Stakes , two handicaps, a nursery and a maiden complete what once again will prove a thoroughly enthralling five days of action.
