2015 Flat winners

Our results speak for themselves…

WON @ 10/1

This is obviously a big step up from handicap company to Group 1 level for Twilight Son but it is worth remembering that he beat the likes of Magical Memory (who reopposes here) with some ease earlier in the season and he looks to be coming to the boil at just the right time. He does need a big step forward but his trainer has plenty of good sprinters in the yard so he should know where he stands roughly. He fits the profile of many of the recent winners of this race and could offer some each-way value in an open race.

Advice - 2pts e/w @ 10/1

WON @ 8/1

I think the forgotten filly in the race is Pleascach who was being described as one of the best fillies Jim Bolger had trained not so long ago. I think her four runs in the space of two months took their toll she is very interesting having had a break. I don’t believe we have seen the best of her on her last two starts but she should be primed for this. She looked a top-class filly earlier in the year and I think she can confirm that here and the fact that she is around 7/1 is even better. Bolger is no stranger to success in this race either.

Advice - 2pts e/w @ 7/1

WON (dead-heat) @ 9/1

My preference is the top weight Libran who beat Pressure Point over C&D in May and gets a sizeable pull in the weights with that rival here. He disappointed dropped back to 1m2f for the Zetland Gold Cup after that but bounced right back to form when 4th in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot. The form of that race has worked out really well. He should be able to get a good position from stall 8 and with further improvement possible, he looks likely to be thereabouts at the business end of the race.

LIBRAN – 1pt e/w @ 12/1
